The 2018's have a new module to protect against outside attacks,it requires an authentication protocol to access any module that is important or at risk. It will require the aftermarket tuners to come up with some new tricks

This thing is bad. Really bad.

I don't think anyone cares about hacking the truck. Using the truck as a vector to hack the phones connected to the truck... Different story.

I've always got my deuce I guess. No computers. Heck once it gets running it doesn't even need the battery.

All this fancy stuff just makes it so that we have to rely on dealers. Not a big fan of it.

how about the lane assist, or the auto braking? think someone can't hack into the car's computer take control of it... then you could have assassinations and no way of knowing. could very well be done. and with relative ease. all one would need is to fallow within 30-50 feet...
food for thought.

Making my new tinfoil hat right now........

Heck with that....my truck is my safe space......:-laf

sag2, you might want to reconsider that thought. Read this about a billionaires yacht being hacked through a phone. Read the complete article. Very scary crap especially considering the recent collisions of some our best war ships.

I'm pretty sure there are not too many people driving around looking for me to hack. But I did save millions by switching to Geico.

I'd not get too complacent. This thing can be delivered like a virus. The attacker doesn't have to "look" for anything (infected devices can do that.)
Pretty much can just infect one device and sit back and wait.

It's amazing how naive some people are about tech. How fast and easy it is to piggyback in on any and all communication you are doing. Sure maybe you have nothing to hide, but ever check bank account? or pay via cell phone, walk around with an RFID chipped credit or debit card.
They don't have to work for it, the uneducated do all the work for them.
