I have been talking with Chip at Bluechip about his boxes for months now. He seems to be very nice and knowledgeable about his product. I'm probably going to get the three wire box, because I LOVE smoke and don't care who doesn't! #ad
#ad
The used ones are also cheaper! I've heard alot of talk about the VA CPC and some about TST boxes, but very little about the Blueboxes. I guess I'm going to get boost and pyro guages and the 4" down pipe from JRE. I'm dying for RV injectors, but something is going to have to give. Probably my wallet and my clutch!!! I would like to hear from ya'll about the Bluebox or any other mod for that matter. I can't do everything, but I want the best for the grand that I will spend. Thanks a bunch guys.

I have the Blue Box... bought it thru BD, and I love it. I have a three wire, which is adjustable. I have left mine on 30% so far, and it does not smoke. Not that I think a little smoke is a bad thing, I just keep seeing posts that say how the BOX smokes. It doesn't. It may or may not on other settings, but you can email any of the NW BOMBers, and let them decide if my truck smokes! If you watch the HVAC video, you will see smoke. His BOX(at last count) is set at the 70%. That could account for the smoke... or any of the many other mods he has done. If there is power to go along with smoke, I like it! The BOX will definitely give you power... . get one and enjoy. I have had mine since last November and no problems with anything. (transmission, pump, etc). If I can answer any specific questions, email me! Has anyone had the BOX, and not liked it? I'll bet the percentage is waaay down there!

I installed the 4"JRE exhaust and definitely recommend it. The installation is fairly easy and I seem to get quicker turbo spool up. My next mod will probably be the DDIII kit including the Boost Module. Does the Blue Box plug in or does it use the pinch connectors?

strick i'm in the same boat , i live near blue chip , been there a few times , got my JRE 4" from blue chip , i finally got my guages on the pillar yesterday , "LET THE BOMBing BEGIN!!!! . i highly recommend that guages are one of the first things you get , that way you can keep an eye on critical items and also lets you see what changes mods will do , i have a VA also on order , i'm picking that up on tuesday , no wire pinching but i think it won't be enough and i will get a bluebox , but i'm going for the 4 wire , that way i can get some use out of that boost guage i installed , i want to see it up near 40 ... #ad

... . if you get the box you really don't NEED the injectors , but you'll WANT them #ad
, you already have the exhaust and low restriction air filter , if you keep the level below 50 your clutch MAY survive , for a little while anyway #ad
but i would plan on a beefier unit in the future , just ask HVAC .

Of course I was speaking hypothetically - IF you put on a blue box you MIGHT pinch the wires - IF someone was to do some power mod upgrades - hypothetically speaking that is. And I was just thinking out loud about the DDIII's, I'd never do anything to void that wonderful 'Covers everything' and 'We'll stand behind you' DC warranty #ad
. Yeah right.

A couple things about the Blue Box. First, it will void your DC warranty, there is a bulletin out to all DC service managers informing them that any nicks in the jacket of fuel pump wiring voids the warranty. They are looking for it. Second, for those that have an automatic, upgrades are essential. 47RE's were not designed to handle the kind of power and torque put out by an ISB with a Blue Box. I suggest a minimum of aftermarket TC and valve body. 30% seems to be about the right compromise between smoking the driveline and keeping an enormous smile on your face when you mash the go pedal. BOMB on!

Cryppie, I was told that same thing but when I asked the dealers to show me the bulletin they could not find it.
If I had a void pending because of the 'nicks' I would want to see the bulletin.
If this is a BIG concern for DC then I think they would want the truck buying public to know where they stand in regards to this too.

Of course this is all hypothetical since I would not entertain the thought of doing a BOMB addtition that could jeopardize my good standing in the eyes of the DC Gods.

If theres someone on the board that has had their warranty restricted for a power upgrade that caused a failure or know someone that has... lets see the proof of that incident... that would help a lot of us to understand if a product can cause this or if its another DC smoke blowing tactic.

Hi, I'm new to the list, what is this Blue Box, do they have a web site, or where can I read about it?

Sorry for the delay in posting, but here's my nickel: in terms of smile factor, the Blue Box is GREAT! It's adjustable to vary how much you are pinned to your seat, how much enhancement delay there is (i. e. smoke), and how much you WILL have to modify your transmission. Chip's website is http://bluechipdiesel.com and he is very knowledgeable, will work through technical problems and puts his customers first. If you have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail me directly.
