Even tho they say nothing sails like a wood boat but man are they a lot of maintenance.

I would check it out, the price seems a little high though. Make sure to check the condition of the planks and ribs look carefully, take a small hammer so you can tap them to see if they are solid. Look at the paint job i've seem people put a thin layer of caulk between the seems to hide bad spots or where it needed the oakum replaced. Is the boat in the water? If it has been out of the water for a while it will take a while to get the boat to seal up. I have been around boats for a while and if you want to pm me I can point out some other things for you. :)

An Ed Monk is a good design. All wood is not for me though. If it's your bag, go for it.

The Perk 130 will last a long time, but probably raw water cast iron exhaust manifold and to replace that it's pricey... might as well repower (trust me I owned an old Perk once).

If you get the boat and need a manual I have one for the Perk 160 on CD. (turbocharged version of the same basic engine).
