I have a boat that I have to move over a somewhat rough surface - and the wheel I have on the trailer jack doesn't work very well. Does anybody make a tongue jack with a pneumatic tire?

Worked at a boat yard for a numnber of years and we had several of these. When I went to search for a web address, all I could find were hard wheel units. Manufacturers like WesBar/Fulton, Shelby Industries, Hammerblow, and Dutton-Lainson. On most of these, the wheel is on a pinned collar. If you can't find one, you might buy the jack part and purchase a pneumatic caster wheel and weld on an attachment collar. Just a thought- probably what I would do if I couldn't find one to purchase.

http://www.algood-casters.com/pneumatic-wheels.html has some pneumatic casters.

Grainger and several of the industirial supply houses may also have pneumatic casters. Hope this helps.

What kind of boat do you have? Or, I guess I should ask. . what is the tongue weight of your trailer? I know that when I was looking for one for my jet ski trailer, they all had a certain weight capacity. I have an 18ft FourWinns and I believe the tongue weight is around 300 lbs.

You may check out Overton or some of your local marine shops.

I just buy the trailer tongue jack with the flat pad and weld on a caster wheel that I got from Northern Equipment. They have pneumatic swivel caster wheels that are good for 625 lbs each. You can double them up if you need more.

Thanks guys -

Great suggestions. jlccc - thanks for this idea - you know this might work better than anuthing - as my boat's light - and all I need to do is swing it so I can hook it up. I'll give this a try.

tell your wife you HAVE to have a four wheeler to move the boat around with :D

now what the best four wheeler for him to buy :D :D

I wish my Polaris ATV could pull my boat around...

My boat is only an 18ftr... . but it would rip my ATV apart.
