Just installed pocket flares and would like to re-use the cummins logos on front quarter panels if at all possible. Anyone have any luck in re-attaching these, or, should i just order new ones? The adhesive backing tore apart during removal so don't have much to work with. thanks

that's kinda would I am thinking. I did the fishing line thing while removing but did not have a whole lot of luck. I haven't checked but believe I can probably purchase these from Geno's without spending too much (with better end results). Just hate not being able to re-use these as there is nothing wrong with them other than the backing tape. thanks.

Acetone the emblem once you have it 100% clean. Lay on your tape and use a razor to cut away excess about a 32 of an inch from the edge. Keeping BOTH the Emblem all taped up and the truck @ the same temp. This way when going from cold to hot they heat up and/or contract together and will not fall off say when winter hits. Next using rubbing alcohol clean the painted surface. Most 3M tapes are pressure sensitive so keep pressure on it for a couple seconds (Decent pressure)

I happen to have the catalog next to me.

03-05 style = $22. 95 each. Red and black letters

06 - 08 style = $15. 95 each Black letters

thanks guys. I bought the tape and will see how it goes this evening, especially now after seeing what Geno's wants for these little guys. I am considering placing these at the rear of the quarter panel rather than on the door (beneath the "2500") and will post pics for opinions. thanks

I tried to get a good closeup shot of the badge but didn't do a very good job of it. Although a utility blade does a pretty good job of trimming the tape, i'd suggest using something else with a narrower tip, as it was difficult cutting the inside radius of the "C". I wasn't quite sure where to place and would have liked to of attached to the door, but, thought the small badge would look feeble next to the "RAM 2500". I really like the flares but wish they were more of a flat black than a semi-satin finish.

Or 5. 9 in blue vinyl behind the Cummins C

I call the 5. 0 Position just that because of where your eyes naturally go from being trained to look for the imfamous Mustang 5. 0 badge

I have heard of guys spraying some kind of clearcoat on the flares to make them look darker and it is suppose to keep them from fading anybody ever do this?

CookJ, how wide was the tape you bought? Did you cover the whole backside, or just the edges?

I need to rebadge my 1st gen, but the badges are 2 3/4 wide, and I can only find 1/2" tape.

I bought the 1" wide 3M tape and masked the whole back side(see pic if i uploaded it correctly). Also, O'reillys has the adhesive strip that normally comes on the window visors (you know, that skinny gray strip that bonds to anything). I will go this route should the tape begin to fail.
