Competition Holeshot Box Truck

Competition How do you launch?

ANY time you do a body lift, you ALWAYS have issues with things not being positioned correctly. The intercooler showing is the least of your worries. For instance, bumpers, fuel tank filers, steering columns, shifters, and radiators to name a few. These things will need to be relocated for proper function and cosmetics. In my opinion, body lifts are more trouble than their worth.

Body lifts have their place but IMO a heavy duty truck isn't one of them. I have a body lift on my wife's Jeep and had one on an S-10 that I had. On the Jeep I did it because I wanted to keep the center of gravity as low as possible but wanted larger tires (32x11. 5) to make it look better and work better on the dunes. My S-10 I did it because IFS lifts are really expensive, very complicated, cause lots of problems with driveshaft angles, etc and don't give you squat for additional clearance. You would have to do a good bit of fabrication in order either keep the intercooler where it is in relation to the frame or to make up custom hoses to connect to it once it moves up with the body. You also have to keep in mind that the capacity of your bed will be greatly reduced because of the additional force on the mounting bolts and the general weakness of the blocks. IMO on our trucks the only way I'd do a lift is with a suspension lift.

Hi Kbond body lifts are not made for these trucks because there are alot of things that are affected by lifting the body off the chassis it can be done and with out sacrificing any strength here is a picture of my truck with 3" body lift I made doesn't look UGLY to me :D I wouln't recommend a body lift unless you can't go any higher with suspension last alternative but can be done and look good

Ive got a buddy with a 2k PSD. he put 8 1/2" of suspension lift into it. not enough, he bought the gasser body lift, and it worked like a charm. He has since had 5" drop brackets on the shackel mounts. It has way too much clearance between the 39. 5 boggers and the fenders to look right. He is gonna go with 44s after the old ones wear out. he also has axles from a 79 F350 (dana 60 and 70. ) He drives it quite often.

That is the best looking first generation I have ever seen!!! Dang 40s are sweet. Can you send me some pics or link me to your website? My e-mail is -- email address removed -- The local cummins mechanic said it wouldn't hurt anything.
