In my search for more ways to blow money on my truck I have decided to get a body lift. I already have the Skyjacker D25 coils in the front and am happy with the way it rides. That coupled with the fact that a 4" suspension lift is 1000 smacks has put me in the market for a body lift.

First of all it is apparent that no one makes one for a CTD. No problem since I will cut down the intercooler hoses myself.

So I ask where I can get the best kit and the best price. Will it come with the stuff needed for extending the linkage for the auto. Any other info that I need to know would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

Thanks guys. I have already talked a little to Rob about his Lift. The thing is he doesn't have linkage to a auto transmission. I am looking for someone who installed a similar lift on a truck with a Auto. :) Hopefully someone has done it.

BTW, thanks for finding that thread.

Did a body lift on my 94 auto. I did it in 95 when there was no kits available on the market. Made my own and went 2". With 2" you will not have to lengthen you shifter linkage. It is long enough to adjust and catch at the very end. If you go 3", you would have to weld an extension on the rod end. Also with 3" you fan blade will hang down below the bottom of the radiator. With no running boards or nerf bars you will see a lot of the frame if you go 3". I currently have a 2" coil spacer in front, and a 2" body lift with 37" tires, (see signature for pics). Got to consider if the extra inch is worth some of the drawbacks. Either way, they are both worth it.

Just my $. 02 on the Skyjacker 4. 5" lift...

I toyed with the idea of a body lift because I too had the 2. 5" coils. I'm not knocking body lifts, but I will say that the 4. 5" lift is worth every penny. It was a very easy install and it gets your frame up out of the way for offroading. Also just like BOMB'ing the rest of the truck, figure out what your end goal is. Are you going to want to go bigger later? Do you offroad alot? What type? Bodylifts allow you to fit bigger tires no doubt, a good suspension lift will do that and more.

That being said, Offroad Warehouse sells the Performance Accessories body lifts (which IMO are the best) for $205. 99 and the only thing it does not come with is rear bumper brackets. You will have to purchase them separately.

I bought and installed a V-10 body lift on my 2001 auto. DO NOT tell them it is for a diesel because they won't sell it to you. This was my second body lift to install. Took probably 10 hrs. Easy ,just keep in mind you may or may not have follow instructions to the T. I think ,best I can remember, the major thing is intercooler. I just loosened very much pass. side and rolled ells around and cut off a few inches of long straight piece on driver side. Transfer case linkage was ok but had to lenthened auto shifter linkage with pieces supplied. Front bumpers a B to get alighned. I have also leveled the front about 3" and comfortablly run 35's and sometimes 36 super swampers. PM me with a e-mail address and I'll send some pics. You can keep your stock ride, run big tires, and for a fraction of the cost of a susp. lift.

I'm still all smiles about the body-lift, no regrets. You won't believe the room under the hood when your done. I just thought of another benift, it will allow easy installation of under bed stacks, so you can retain the full use of the inside of the bed. After your mount your front hitch with the new found room, you can add one of these handy features... ...

Bshipley, what brand are you running. So far I am leaning towards the Performance Accessories lift, part # PR60063. Can anyone confirm this is the right #. Thanks. :)
