I am thinking about putting a 2" body lift under my truck so I can squeeze a set of 33x12. 5x16. 5 I have laying around under my truck. I would prefer lifting the suspension 2" over a body lift and purchacing some new 33x12. 5x16 BFG's on Weld Super Singles, But the Whole thing centers around $money$ #ad
or should I say the lack of #ad
LOL.
I am wondering if there is a Brand thats better than anouther or if I should replace all suspension bushing to while i'm at it?
Any help is appriciated!
Thanks,
Gene

Hey Eugene!

I don't have much advice on Body Lifts, I guess I've just never liked the appearance of more exposed frame. But, I can make a recommendation & suggestion for a suspension lift that is probably as cost efficient as a body lift.

There are a few of us in this forum that are running the Skyjacker 2 1/2" front suspension lift. This kit will allow you to run 33" tires w/o any contact while improving ride & articulation at the same time. You would only have to do the front, there is enough clearance in the back already to clear the 33's.

I paid $365. 00 for mine from my local 4x4 shop, mail order was approx. $387. 00. I also kicked in about $120. 00 extra for 4 'Hydro' shocks, nice ride, great price.

Info:

Skyjacker (318)388-0816

frt. springs: part # D400S
frt. shocks: part # N8027
rear shocks: part # N8038

rear springs: part # DR60 ( you'll want them eventually if you do the front's for the ride improvement alone)

Also do a search for "Skyjacker" on past postings and see what others have to say on this subject.

Hey KEENO,

Thanks for your input, I am wondering how your truck looks with the 2. 5" lift in the front? Does it sit higher than the back or level?

I really like the way my truck sits now with the rear higher than the back. Seems like the 92 and 93's sit a little higher in the rear than the 89 to 91 4x4's.

The softer riding shocks sound like a nice addition also!
