Boerne Event Replacement - Here's the Plan

For information only- I got a letter today from Boerne Superstore- sez "Due to circumstances beyond our control we regret we are unable to host the TD's in TX event for the year 2000. We however look forward to hosting this event for the year 2001...

As to Temple or wherever, just let me know when & where!

243- any plans for our next meeting yet? Isn't it to be 2 weeks from tomorrow?

Hey Jeff,
I think either of those dates will work for me. Let me know what everyone else feels will work best. Any thoughts on the offer on the other tread 'bout the Dallas area dealer sponsering the event?

I posted a reply on the other thread about this matter today, and I will suggest the same here. Benny Boyd Dodge in Lampasas says he is the best dealer around. He seems to rely on word of mouth advertizing, and this would be a great opportunity. I had originally thought of having the event at his dealership, but Temple is only 45 miles away, and he advertizes in Austin which is 70 miles away. If any of y'all live around there, you might want to mention it to them. I will be going out there for the 4th, but I won't have any time to visit the dealership.

Benny Boyd is where I bought my truck. If someone has details as to what we would expect from them/what we want them to do, etc... . I can pass it on. .

Given that Rd. Runner has already gotten a commitment from the dealer he works at, should we go with Outlet Mall Truck Sales? They were good enough to volunteer Bar-B-Q and a cook as well as bring a few trucks down. I would suggest holding off on contacting Benny Boyd Chrysler for now. But, that's just my two cents worth.

A couple of things to think about. We need to keep this thing as centraly located as possible. Being a one day event, we don't want people to have to drive 3/4 of the way across the state to get to the event. I still think Temple is the best way to go. We can look at the lake and rent a pavillion or check out the dragstrip or both. Some of us are going down to Temple this weekend to check things out. Let me know what you guys think.

I contacted Diesel Injection Service two weeks ago and was told that we can expect some product donations which will probably be used for door prizes. They cannot guarantee they will be there but will try to make it since it is a local event.

I also contacted Henson Motor Company and they are supposed to send Dr. Performance reps as well as a truck or two to the event. HMC has recently begun modifiying trucks with DP's parts.

I have also left a message (several) with Cummins Southern Plains to see if they would like to send some tech's to hold some seminars; oddly enough, I have not received a call back. Kinda of sad that they don't seem to be as enthusiastic about their motors as we are.
