Boerne Event Replacement - Here's the Plan

New Meeting Place in SW Missouri

Hey guys, I talked to a gentleman over at Wyatt Arp Dodge, in Seguin TX (30 minutes outside San Antonio) about maybe hosting a replacement for the cancelled Boerne event. He seemed interested. If ya'll be interested in coming to the San Antonio area for an event, it may be worthwhile to call and encourage him to put something together. I know I'd like to see something in South Central Texas. His name is Hart(?) and the number is 830-372-3444.

Hey Randy, 243 (Houston) and myself (Dallas) have been trying to get something together for awhile now. He suggested a dealer in Madisonville. I have good response from the guys here in Dallas. My idea was a day long event starting around 11:00 and finishing up around 4:00. That way the group and Dallas and the group in Houston could meet early and caravan to the event. I have not heard back from 243 on the event. If that dealer will host it, that's great. We should all work together on this deal. E-mail me and we can discuss some particulars.

Hey Jeff, I'm all for where ever. I figured since the Boerne dealer was here close to San Antonio, maybe another dealer close to San Antonio would work good especially if we could get it the same weekend, for those that already made plans. I sure don't know much about organizing one of these meets, but, will lend a hand where I can. I do know one other dealer south of San Antonio about 30 minutes that I'm pretty sure would host one.

Hey Dave, I don't think I got it. The computer at work has been acting funny lately. You might want to try it again.

Randy, We were looking at something a little closer to the middle of the state. Madisonville is about 2 1/2 hours from Dallas, whereas San Antonio and the surronding area is close to 4. I was looking for something where the majority of us could make the trip down and back in the same day. If Henson Motor Co. falls thru, we will look at some other locations. I don't mean to steal your thunder on this deal, I just thought we can all work together to make this happen. Do you have a chapter meeting in San Antonio? I would like to see something along the lines of 50-75 trucks show up for this. I know of about 20 trucks from Dallas that want to make the trip. Our group up here has been trying for the last 4 years to get a TDR event in Texas. We thought we had it a few years ago when we planned something at the Texas Motor Speedway, but it didn't work out. I want to see this happen.

I'm ready! I was disappointed to see the Boerne event cancelled. If it's a one day event, it's better for me, unless it's 4 or more hrs. away.

Dave, we are going to try to get hooked up with Henson Moter Co. in Madisonville. Its just south of Corsicana, about 2. 5 hours from us. We will meet somewhere in DFW around 8:00am, have breakfast, and be in Madisonville by 11:00. That is not set in stone so keep your eyes peeled for further info.

<font color=blue>Are you shooting for the same date? The reason I ask is I will be down in Texas first week of July. I will be in the Ennis (32 miles south of Dallas) area for most of the week visitng the grandfolks, then 8th, 9th, and 10th be down around Lake Buchahon (I know I spelt that wrong) for a family reunion. Anybody having any meetings and or events during this timeframe??

Kat, we are trying for the same weekend so it won't be so hot. Our Dallas chapter will be having its meeting on the 8th at 9:00am. If you think you can make it, let me know and I will give you directions.

Jeff I sent you a email for directions. I can not commit to making it just yet because my vacation plans are still kinda sketchy as to when I will be where. But I believe I will be down at Lake Buchanon when you have your meeting but in case it changes please send me some directions. THank you.

Boerne is cancelled? AARGHH!!! Somebody e-mail me, I'll go anywhere as long as I can get back in a day.

Hi guys. The company I work for owns The Outlet Mall car & truck sales at Hillsboro, Tx. This just north of the IH 35 split for Dallas/ Ft. Worth traffic. I talked to Richard Holland (General Manager). He is willing to furnish Bar-B- Q & a cook. He also would bring a couple of trucks down to display. Might be open for other suggestions. When we talked the thread was about the Temple area. I don't think he would be able to go out much father as it would be considered to be out of his sales territory as defined by D. C. I will be interested to attend the get together in any event. Let's not allow this idea get strung out so long that people lose interest or give up. I think there are enough of us to make something really nice happen. Feel free to e-mail me with any comments or suggestions.

Jim, I for one think it would be a great idea if your company is represented there. Especially bringing down a few trucks. And, the BBQ would be welcome. Not sure about anyone else, but, I like it.

Does anyone know about Benny Boyd Dodge in Lampasas? I hear his adds on the radio in Austin all the time about him being the best Dodge dealer around (I've never been there myself). Maybe he would be interested in hosting an event there. Lampasas is where 183, 281, and 190 all come together about 45 miles west of Temple. That's pretty central for the state. I have friends that own a computer store in Lampasas (if you live there you use their ISP), and they seemed happy with the Durango they bought there. If he wants to say he is the best dealer around, maybe he could prove it.
