DODGE/ CUMMINS 24V ISB

SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY PRICE

These nozzles are an easy, direct bolt-in replacement for the standard equipment in the 24v ISB motors.

Our testers report a nice 40 hp and 100 ft-lb gain, LOWER EGT than stock, better FUEL ECONOMY.

They will outlast and outperform OEM in every regard. The unparalelled Fratelli Bosio precision manufacturing tolerances means that these nozzles will not require pop testing or shimming - the injectors will be in spec as soon as the new nozzles are installed.

See the review on page 118 of issue 46 of the Turbo Diesel Register magazine.

OK Who has issue 46 that I can borrow

:>

kermintdi is a TDR member that sells these nossles. I think that he will chime in here to let you know about them.

For a first time improvement cost wise, they may be the cats meow. I wouldn't know or pretend to have any experience with them. The injectors I sent DM were new nossles on my old bodies. The POP test is recomended but not required with a nossel exchange. The injector body is shimed for pressure release not the nossle.

The whole point of this thread "may" be to let others know that the options for performance are not cost/HP but cost/grins and giggles. I know I have spent enough to keep me grin'in for a while.

Kermin, help me out here... ... .

Mike

I pm'd him he was online ,,,, but loged right off i must of scared him away ... . :>

Im leaning alot more about them now that I have the word "Frateli" to go with them .

Thanks for every thing Mike you should get the Golden TDR member award for what youve done for just Bill , and me let alone who ever else youve helped out .

Thanks

DM

Now if you only had issue 46 and a scanner

LOL

TDR has the cheapest advertizing rates and youll be seen by alot of potential buyers

its like $300 for 3 mths ,,,,, What are you waiting for ??????

DM

You don't have to be a paying advertiser to talk about your product, *if* someone asks about it.

You can discuss your product all you want--just no unsolicited "advertising" type of posts, and no price/order/selling discussions.

Hope that helps :)

Dan-

Well, ok, then. :)

We did the SPRINT 820 when Bosch threatened to raise the RV275 prices a couple years ago. The RV275 is a pretty common mild upgrade, and it's what most of the aftermarket companies start with when they do an extrude hone. Good place to start, eh.

There's less expensive stuff out there, and higher performance stuff, but I don't think there's another manufacturer on the planet that can match F. lli Bosio manufacturing tolerances and consistently turn out every nozzle so perfectly matched. Even Bosch can't match it, because they have to crank out the millions of production numbers. Every Bosio nozzle is tested before it leaves the factory, and if it isn't PERFECT it gets trashed. SO one claim to fame is you KNOW every one will flow exactly the same. No picking from dozens till you find a matched set. We are finding that the pop pressures tend to fall right in line, also, with less or no shimming. That effect is a result of the tight tolerance in the nozzle/needle play, which affects the nozzle's ability to hold pressure (and ramp up pressure, which leads to pop)

It is those small things that are not always on the radar screen for some guys, but they are vital for the smoothest running motor that runs cool and gets good economy.

Never having changed injectors, yet, what is the procedure for just changing the "nozzles" ? Is it something a shop does or you do at home. Also, how do you know when you have to "shim" them or not? Thanks

If you can pull the injectors, you can swap the nozzles. You need a vise and a wrench. THe "stub" type holders are a little more challenging to get a good hold in the vise, but other than that, it is a trivial matter once you have the injectors out of the truck.

If you want a pop test, just about any diesel shop will do it for you for a few bucks if not free. When we first started doing VW injectors a few years ago, we were also concerned about shimming to get the pop pressures even. What we found is that 95% of the time there was no shimming required after the nozzles were replaced with new Bosio units, even if the injectors were uneven before the swap. Basically you are rebuilding your own injectors.

I Know mine ROCK !!!!

:>

Over head AVG miles keeps going up and up .....

3x3 is where Im running the comp ,,,the truck acts like its on 5x5 before the nossels but alot smoother ,,,seems to be better on thr tripple disk suncoast ...

Its suppose to be 75* tomarrow so the Bog down when placed in gear when under engine tempature will have to wait till it cools off ,,, Lowing the comp settings seem to lessen the drop in RPM but its not that cold out yet ... will see how they act at cooler tempatures.

Took a note on my way home from work

Cruise set @ 59 MPH

4 PSI Boost

20 PSI Fuel

600* Pyro

The cruise seems to be a little touchy compared to stock its not bad or anything just to be noted that when it calls for fuel it dont mess around anymore and it shoots the MPH neddle right up to where you want it ,,, then once in a while whips it back up to set speed ... . Not that bad really but not as smooth as with the stock injectors ... As Should be exspected .

Smoke isnt as much as once thought it was dark on my test drive and what seemed to be Coal Black smoke turns out to be a hase :< ... . LOL

But 5x5 WOT from a stop and it will lay a path till the Hx35 catches up .....

It dont smoke as much as the Catcher/ Hx35 21 Cm Ext housing Combo tho ... . LOL

Give me a few more days with some cooler weather and well see what there made of

thanks KERMA for the post... So these are called SPRINT 820 ???

DM

I put a set of Kerma's Power Plus 502 nozzles in my old VW TDI 3 years ago. I installed them at an impromptu gathering of Cummins dieselheads in Derby, CT. :D

I don't have any dyno numbers from that car (for before/after results... ), but I'm certainly a card-carrying member of the group of people that really appreciate the craftsmanship that Bosio puts into these nozzles.

When (notice I didn't say "if"... ) I get my next TDI, Charlie's phone is going to be ringing shortly thereafter... I'll be ordering some injector nozzles ASAP.

Sidebar:

That little TDI made 38psi ( ), never got above 1300°F (pyrometer in the manifold) and never got below 43mpg with all the modifications I did to it.

Matt

P. S. The pic that DieselMinded linked to on the TDIClub.com forums didn't show up for me - so I've attached it to this post.
