We took the Little Guy Laredo to Tucson for four nights. When we got back to Gold Canyon the left rear tire was going flat. It happen in the last couple miles of the 100 mile trip. This is a case of knowing exactly what caused the failure. The bolt showed little signs of have been run of the road very far. Attached is a picture of the bolt in the tire and the bolt that I kept as Discount tire was installing a new Endurance ST225/75R15E.

I will contact Goodyear to see what they have to say. I had not purchased Discount Tires warranty.

Does this bolt look like something that came from our 2015 4x4 3500?

It does look like an OE style bolt but whether it's from your truck is almost impossible to tell. That's an awfully large diameter bolt to punch a hole in the tire. I would think you would have just rolled over it...bad luck I guess.

I agree looks like a suspension bolt to me as well but from your vehicle who knows just have to take a look around under there and see if any are missing. I had a 3x1/2 inch lag bolt go through my front tire last year. she went flat pretty darn quick.

Several years ago on my 01 I was out in the middle of no where and I lost a lower right front caliper bolt. It had to have just happened or I would have noticed it as it was quite apparent that my brakes were funky and the associated noise of the caliper hitting the wheel when you applied the brakes. So I figured it had happened since my previous use of the brakes within the last couple miles at best. Had a good 30 miles to go to get to the nearest small town with a parts store. So I went looking for it. Now this was on a lightly used road in the middle of nowhere that serviced a shooting range where I was coming from and a coal mine where it ended. I found at least 10 bolts on that road or the shoulder within those couple miles that I looked. I was very surprised at the number I found.

I have received 3 new Goodyears from previous 5 year old tires seperating for $25.00 each. Basically the cost of the warranty. It does pay to get the road hazard warranty.

Actually I just got a call from them, as I courtesy they are going to pay for half of the cost of the tire only. $127 = $63.50. Better than nothing. It was worth the time to contact them. SnoKing

DAMN, that's great.

Maybe another reason GY tires are expensive?

Still waiting to see an ENDURANCE failure NOT from road hazard!

Well the bolts on the truck have the same KXV 10.9 on the head. I can not find a missing one yet. Put it in a door pocket and when I go for the drag link recall I will have them look for it. Attached is a picture of a larger similar bolt. SnoKing

If you were missing a bolt that size you would know it pretty quick! It does look like a OEM bolt but fun fact of the day 100% of all cars on the road come with OEM bolts so looks like it came off a vehicle, just not yours.

Could be a brake caliper bolt. My sons car lost one this winter. When we went to Napa to get a new one, they told us they’ve sold over 30 of them this winter.

KXV is mfg stamp

They are a pretty high end FCA supplier or so from this snippet on their web site.

The underside of my 2014 dart is covered with a couple of plastic pans. A couple of years ago I found a bolt that looked kind of like that sticking out between 2 pans. The head was what kept it from falling out. I took it to the dealer and had them remove the pans and look to see if a bolt was missing ( they said they didnt see anytihng and nothing else has fallen off). Probable just laying in there from manufacturing.
Do the new trucks have pans covering the underside ?

Not really. Skid plates if optioned that way. This bolt show signs of having been on the highway.
