Besides Piers bomber lite, who is running a modified "larger" size turbo on their 3rd Gen truck?

450-500hp area.

Also, how easy was it to install?

Any fabrication required? etc. etc.

Thanks in advance.

Diesel Dynamics Jammer here. It's rated to 500HP (made 490HP with mine, other have made just over 500). It's as easy an install as it could be - everything bolts in, no fabrication required. You do have to use their air box kit, unless you want to adapt a different air box to the turbo.

How are your egt's?

How is the lag?

Street drivability?

EGT's are manageable up to about 105MPH or so. On WOT runs beyond this, I get up around 1400°F. For normal driving, I rarely see >1100°F.

Lag isn't too terribly bad. This is hard to quantify, but I can spool to 40psi in short order (maybe by 1800RPM or so, if the TC is locked).

Drivability? I drive it every day, so I'd say it's pretty good. I had to do a little bit to quiet the turbo whine down some (it was too intense inside the cab).

The DD turbo is an HX40 correct?

I already got yelled at by Keith for this ;) - it's not an HX40 (looks like one, though).

So i can get that DD jammer + airbox i needed for 1625. . or around there. . Sounds pretty good i wonder if they do TDr discounts. . This looks like the turbo that would work great for me. . Id like to have 470 - 475 hp. Drive daily. Never tow... @ 475 im just upgrading my tc + vb no drag racing untill i get money to have a 5500 $ trans. .

I made 540 hp with an Enterprise engine performance turbo. great driveablity, not much lag, and more durable that an HX40.

I have pulled with mine at muncie.

I see you have 490 hp. . How are the egt's with the ks-b1 at that level?

Lag?

Drivability?

How much? where?

turbo for 03

I have a KS-B1 on my truck and Dynoed over 520hp. It bolts directly up without changing anything. There is no lag with this turbo. I have a buddy that put one on his truck and runs it with and without his edge and says he has very little lag without the box on. The KSB-1's that were blown up were not waste-gated and you can know get them with the waste-gate. Hope this helps you out and if you want to buy one e-mail me and I'll get you a price on one.

The DD Jammer does come with a 4 inch downpipe, and is an excellent turbo for the HP range intended. I've got over 25K miles on mine, and it performs flawlessly every day.

My Buddie has destroyed two DD jammer turbo in a year. Both times the shaft broke.

Due to running a TST box or a faulty turbo?

What is the exhaust housing like on the KS-B1? Basically an HX35-12?
