Those of you with aftermarket boxes (such as the EZ)... . what are you getting for mileage? Better / Worse?

I'm thinking about:

Box

Bigger Exhaust (down-pipe and less restrictive muffler)

Gauges

Air intake mods...

*I know these things (any one of them) should help my power and EGT's... what about mileage? THANKS!

P. S. My 98-1/2 got 1 mile per gallon better mileage with the Edge EZ>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>(Though it really woke it up!)

I have 4" exhaust, BHAF and the EZ.

Without the EZ 15-17mpg

With 20-27 (shown by computer)

I should know the real mileage in the next couple days.

Most members report that the best conbo for mileage is E-Z and 275 injectors.

The 4" exhaust is not beneficial till atleast 375-400 hp.

Gauges and better filters are a great beginning.

If you tow gauges are a must.

For best mileage keep rpm under 2k.

There is no 275hp injector available for a 2003 truck. Exhaust is necessary on the '03 truck at around 325hp (on the HO's) to help control EGT's.

All the mods I have done have neither helped nor hurt my mileage for the most part. If driven nicely (under 70 mph) and long trips I have gotten the best mileage to date at 20. 3 mpg and other long trips it is normal to get around 19 mpg but daily driving around 16. 5 to 17 mpg now turn the box up and drive for sound and the fuel gauge moves as fast as the tach, well almost but even then 15 mpg is about the worst in the summer. I have never been real happy with the fuel mileage this truck has gotten but the power is realll nice.

I saw a 1. 2 mpg improvement after adding the EZ. I averaged 17. 5 before and 18. 7 after. This is hand-calculated at each fillup.
