Mine had been around a few years and pages were starting to fall out. It never did lay flat and hold a page I had it open to. Then I would be looking for the screwdriver I stuck into it to mark the page!
So I took it to Kinko's and had them split it in half and put a comb binding on each half. I also copied the index so each half would have one as well as the tab page in the front of the book. It peeled out like a note pad.
They made a color copy of the cover it reproduced the wrinkles and grease marks quite nicely! And I had them put a clear cover on the front and a plastic one on the back.
The result? Awesome! They should come this way! I can now open the book to any page, lay it flat and not have to fight to keep from loosing the page.
I don't know the cost (I had some other manuals done at the same time) but it was probably $15 or less.
