Bombed fuel tank

I couldn't take it any longer... Guage would read empty... . the dinger's going off [the one on the instrument panel], so I,d stop for fuel... 29 gallons ?... so dropped the tank, and found the top surface of the float to be 2. 75 in. off the bottom of tank... so I bent the rod down to 3/4 in. and now the dinger gos off when I have about 1 1/2 gals left, and the needle follows suit. . Now when I stop for gas, I put in about 33 gals. give or take..... Took me about 40 min.

FYI The low fuel signs are designed to function with 7 gallons left in the tank.

Seems bit excessive top me too.

Maybe if we were driving a V10 we'd need that kind of warning. He He

When the Low Fuel chime chimes, I still have 9-10 gallons of fuel left. I can drive all the way past the red empty mark and still only put in 29. 5 gallons.

I have had plenty of experience filling it up.

Truck is one year old today!!

Has 18,900 miles on it.

Just wait a bit longer, my gauge swings all over everyday, chime - chime, light on- light off, back to 3/4... ... ... ... ... ...
