How I support my vendor

Wanted an older Cummins 4x4 Diesel

I am currently looking at a 94 Ford F-700 with a 210 hp Cummins. I have not seen the truck in person cause it's a long ways away, but I am going to make time to do so soon. Any insight on bumping up the performance on dump truck? My guess is its nearly the same mechanical 12v motor. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

take the plate out and grind it with a deep curve down low, then flat on top... it will make a big difference in that alone! Even without adjusting the wastegate... try that and see how it works... also, see if the idle is set too low... if so, take the throttle return spring off, and roll the throttle forward... you should see a little stud sticking up, and if you put a 10mm wrench to it, and unscrew it, it will raise the idle. . you only need to turn it like 2 or 3 complete turns and it should be plenty... check it out and keep us informed!

update

I got the truck today, everything looks good. I know, I know, "what the h*ll are ya doing buying a Ford??" At least its got the right mill. Only 141k on everything, I know the truck is on clutch #2, and should hold a while. I will tinker a little, I think she idles a little low, like my 94 Ram, (thanks C. Harlan for the info. ) I don't know about grinding the plate, she's got decent scoots for a truck of this size, 31k rated, 14ft steel dump body etc. and I don't want to burn anyhing up right away. Guages will get ordered and installed soon. Thanks for the info.

two more questions.....

Haven't done much with the truck yet, getting dump body in order etc. and two new questions come to mind... .

1) should I be worried about the KDP with this truck?

2) If I want to add an exhaust break, do I need to upgrade valve springs?

Thanks in advance for any info. Take care,

Matt
