Ok guys,

I've been spreading the illness... . I let a New co-worker drive my truck (24 valve) now he's hooked.

He has a nice 97 100% stock, 5 speed. I suggest Join TDR first then call LaserBob (gave him your card) after that...

1)Gauges

2) exhaust (at least a straight threw muffler)

3) AFE PG7

4) Clutch

Because he tows 11K in Colorado I don't know what to recommend to him on the torque plate and 12v injectors. Let her rip boys.

5)?

6)?

7)?

8)?

10 Plate

Injectors

Fire ring the head/block

Twins

Injectors... I like my 370's but towing heavy in the Mountians... they might be a bit smokey and hot. Then again... they will be ok with twins... when you are getting enough air. I figure it's always a circle. Have fuel... you need air... have air... you need fuel... . To much fuel is to hot... ... then it's no fun cause you have to back out of it.

#10 plate, GSK. Anything more and it will need a cluch first.

After the cluch look at 370's and maybe some exhaust help.

Piers has a nice setup on sale right now. 4" stainless exhaust system, 3K GSK and plate for $599. 00.

jj, Laser Bob can take care of this guy, pump work and all. He will be one happy dude.

Are you going to Truck Fest this year at Bandimere next week-end? If so Bob and I will see you there.

Of course gauges first, pyro in the manifold.

Then I'd get a plate from some place that will swap it out and start with a #11 and no GSK. Everyone who does a GSK seems to end up with a 10 plate. But I would start without one and see what the gauges told me at the altitudes you drive. I had a little more smoke than I liked with the #10 and I'm only a few hundred ft above sea level. But the 3rd-4th gap is a killer and that might make you want a GSK.

Follow that with a clutch.

I would also keep my stock injectors until I was done with the plates. Plates are cheaper and the 215 injectors aren't bad.

Don't forget one of the best mods ever, the DSS.

And join a local group you'll get to hang out with nice people like Josh.

I agree Mike, give good old Bob a call and he will be happy to hook him up.

See ya at Truck fest next weekend.

Scott, you better bring a helmet if you are gonna race. You need one if you run faster than 13. 99 and your truck should do that. Mine did a 14. 2 last year and I got the new transmission and water/meth this year so I hope to do better. Will see you there.

There should be a lot of fast diesel pick-ups there this year. This should be fun.

He started with the same setup as me all he needs is a #12 slid it forward til it is . 040 from full forward and it will pull anything he wants. I pull about 10,000 the stock clutch would slip in 4th if I was gettin on it. I just replaced the clutch with a SBC only cause the pilot bushing seized up it had 140,000 miles on it when that happened. Gauges are a must. At least he is starting with the right number of valves.
