hey guys,

My friend is intrested in bombing his 96 chevy with a V6. He has watched me bomb my truck and now he'd like to follow in my footsteps, but I don't know the first thing to bomb in his truck. I was just wondering if anyone knew of some things that we could do. Like I said, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to gassers, but was hopeing that some of you might have some suggestions.

thanks

save your $$

Cody, your friend will faint when he figures up how much it will cost to "bomb" his truck (if it is a truck). Since it's a v-6, any change he makes will have a less total impact on power than say if he had one of the v-8's. I've never bombed a computer controlled gasser, so i don't even know if the standard things would work in harmony with the computer (new cam, intake, headers, etc... ). Plus, parts for the v-6 are probably more expensive than a v-8 (supply and demand). I remember the premium i paid when i was bombing my pontiac 400... after it was all said and done, could've bombed a big block chevy and would have ended spending about half the money. Most bang for the buck would be one of those hole-shot nitrous systems, easy install, not to much money, and a decent amount of power. But then you might end up blowing the bottom end all over the road, so it's a risk. My suggestion would be to save his money for something he really wants... . you NEVER get the money you spend "bombing" back when you sell, so best to spend it on something you don't plan selling!
