2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission BOMBing Tow Mirrors?

Ok, this may sound stupid...



But has anyone tried to install a heater and motor into the flip up trailer tow mirrors? I noticed the third gens have heated flip ups... not sure if they're powered though.



I don't know about you guys, but I hate jumping in and out of my truck trrying to get the mirrors right when I flip them up for towing, or back down.



Any thoughts?

You can do the conversion. You can use your bases and new third gen heated power flip up heads. Do a search, i believe the conversion is spelled out in detail somewhere on this board. One of the members has a page that goes through the modification. Somebody will pop up with a link on how to do it. I'm planning it when i find time.

Just wanted to echo what rubber said... I put them on my O1 and got all the info off this site... even added a cool way to put the spring clip back on. I would put up a link to all the poop (that's navy talk... I think) you need but I'm too much of a computer dummy to do that. Good luck and you'll love it when ur done.

I am looking for a used set of towing bases for my 2001, I have the drivers side 3rd generation mirror already. I doing on the cheal so i need the driver base first.
