03's dropping bombs on dyno!

Bombing option and in order that i think will be popular for 03's:

1. Diprcol Guages(white face), 2. exhaust ,3. Edge Comp,4. Southbend clutch, 5. DD 2's/3's, 6. Piers HX40 (housing size?),

IMO i think this combo represents the best quality of vendors, realiability(almost as good as stock) and drivability.

I guess this combo (DD 3's) would result in 500+hp with near stock EGT's and managable smoke.

These vendors proved to be the best on the 02 and earlier, the 03's are still up in the air as far as vendors go and lift pumps and axles etc.

These 03's are proving to be pure monsters.

Cost: (I need help on this) $5100-$6000 W. A. G. depending if you do the work yourself.

who thinks they will do this exact thing? any comments?

Weeel, alot of this is pure conjecture at this point, but what the heck:

1) DiProcol needs to work on their night lighting. Apparently the next release will see improved lighting. Personally, I think with TST and Edge both releasing in-cab monitors, digital is going to be in heavy use. Dakota's fuel pressure gauge is also excellent.

2) Probably, although an air system should come first I think.

3) Edge Comp or the TST PowerMax. Both excellent companies, both excellent products. Whose going to make more power? Who knows, pure conjecture at this point.

4) Most definitely. The double disk is amazing.

5) DD2s for sure. I think once we look at the 100 HP level, that Formula 1 Mach injectors with an additional hole poked in them, and the finer atomization will lead to better bottom end power with less smoke and less heat (as they currently do on the VP44 equipped trucks).

6) The Piers 40 will, as always, remain an excellent choice, however Kurt Yardley has some amazing turbos now. I just finished an install of an externally wastegated B1B on a truck that had an HY35/9 on it. Spool-up between the two trucks was nearly indistinguishable, and its still maintained the mid-range/top-end kick and toughness that the B1 is famous for. Yardley's new K. 45s are also excellent choices, and have even faster spool-up than the B1B. Since the common rail trucks generate so much heat, I think the B1/K. 45 will be a much better choice.

rod great info thanks this is what we need to get all the new info that is going to effect how we bomb these 03's. 500hp 03's i think will be common when people start to get over the initial sticker price shock. i cant wait to see these things twinned out w/ super mentals and drag comp. wow 700hp  look out maxis and powderfluffs cummins still rides on top. thats right bow your heads hehehe

From what I have been reading, if you are increasing the HP/Torque on your truck, and have the 5600, the south bend double disc seems like the way to go. If you have the 47/48re, the main upgrade seems to be the ATS triple lock converter and performance valve body. Is this accurate or do any of you out there have a better recommendation?

FYI, you'll also need a pusher pump upgrade above the 400hp level. We have been testing one at the 500hp level for some time, and hope to have it available in the next 2-3 weeks. Now that we have our white faced mechanical fuel pressure gauge kits available, you guys should start seeing what you have for FP now.

Our new airbox is done... the first 10 units are being powdercoated now... parts for the next 50 have been ordered. Just make sure the upgraded turbo you buy has an airbox to go with it. We are making sure our turbo works with our airbox, but will it fit other airboxes on the market? Dunno.

for moneys sake this is all i am going to bomb in the next 6 months: gauges, air cleaner, comp and leave it at that for a while. I know egt's will be a prob. and i will have to take it easy on my clutch. this i will run me about $1200.
