I've used Bon Ami for years to really clean windows for aplying Goldleaf singage, cool. So I figured I'd use it to clean the new to me truck windshield, before aplying rain ex, well it scratche the hell out of it  Must be some sort of soft glass or there's a film on the extrior of the windshield??? Anybody with a clue or knowlege, Bummer.

Sorry to hear it. Maybe because it's tempered glass? Tempered is much easier to scratch than regular plate glass.

I've used Bon Ami and Bartender's Friend on my '03 2500 a few of times, probably less than 6, and no scratches. Why would one windshield scratch and not another?

I've used a Mr Clean "Magic Eraser" on my glass with good success. We have very hard water here and when I wash my truck the glass spots bad. The Magic Eraser has worked well for me.
