Can you great people tell me how to get ahold of the complaint line or website to Dodge???

Just picked up the truck, and before I got off the lot, checked out the work they performed on the fender they "scratched" while doing some warranty work there.

The damn quarter panel won't hold a small magnet. Obviously this tells me that there is a Bondo artist on the payrol at Downey Dodge. This little "scratch" was already primered by the time I got off work to check it out at the dealer.

Please help guys. I have had nothing but trouble with the dealers since purchasing this truck. If this keeps up, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER DODGE PRODUCT AS LONG AS I LIVE ! ! ! !

Hear that big brother????

There would be steam coming from my ears too!

Jesse,

I'm speechless!. Bondo on a new $30K truck is UNACCEPTABLE. I'd be f@ckin pissed too. It should have NEVER been damaged in the first place! This goes to show you how careless, and 'couldn't give a damn about your vehicle' attitude the dealer has.

I found this info from Fritz's web page:

"I sent my letter certified with return receipt. Which was fowarded to my Zone Rep. He contacted me and set an appointment to look at the truck. Phone calls to Chrysler before the letter were useless. When writing your letter, write it carefully, don't get angry or nasty, but make sure you reflect your frustration in their product".

Be sure to include the following

Owner's Name and Address

Owners Home & Work Phone Number

Dealership Name

Vehicle ID Number

Vehicle delivery date and current mileage

This is exactly what I was looking for..... Thanks:p

Yeah, you work your ass off to scrape enough dough for the down payment, and some upgrades, you take care not to park too close so as not to get them door dings, you have an unexpected warranty problem and take it to the persons you think could make you feel as if your baby is in good hands and what do they do?

Hand the keys of your truck to some lot monkey who couldn't give a rat's ass who's truck this is, and how hard you worked to get it, and if it gets scraped, he has that "what the hell, it ain't my truck" attitude... ... ...

What happened to the days when a person did the best job they could, no matter what they were getting paid?

You think I'm a little pissed off?????

bet your ass I'm pissed

Musclefixer, you might want to hold for just a second before the bombs start flying. I don't have a 3500, but if memory serves me correctly, I think the extended fenders on the duallies are fiberglass. Won't ever get a magnet to stick if that's the case. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

Wyosteve-

I have a 3500, and yes the rear qaurter "bulges" are fiberglass.

However, you may want to check Musclfixer's signature again:eek: , he has a 2500. :(

Musclefixer, hope all works out for your truck, I would suggest asking a reputable body shop look at the "repair" work done to make sure the dealer did a good job. JMHO.

Yes, I have a 2500 and the fenders are metal (who knows if there is any steel in there). I have a meeting with the service manager and the body shop boss on Monday.

I am going to ask them to fix the fender with led, or replace the bottom of the fender. I don't think there is any way they will go with a new bed. If I was some know nothing, I would be really happy since it looks pretty good, but I've been messing with cars since before high school. I was also thinking about an assurance that the bondo will not shrink, crack or chip for some time, like 3 years. Since I 4wheel, I know I'm going to put some scratches and/or dings on it, since every 4wd truck I've owned got these.

If I spend the money, I want to put the damn scratches on myself.

I would Go to the DMV and Complain.

The DMV is the Law for New Car Dealers in Ca.

These Clowns in Downey must have worked at HADDAD DODGE In Bakersfield Ca, At Least it Sounds Like the Same Bunch of MORONS that call themselve's Tech's/Mechanic's.

When I Get Myself a 2002 HO. It will never see the dealer again. !

Doug.

musclefixer,

How big was the scrape? Depth? length? width?

If it was pretty good size dent they should of used a dent puller and filled in the wholes of dent puller with bondo.

If it was small and not to deap they would of use bonbo to fix.

Many years ago they used solder to fill in dents.

Update... ... ... .

Had a meeting with the service manager and the manager of the body shop behing the dealer. The service manager wouldn't get off the "Things happen, what do you want me to do. I can't get the bed replaced, and the repair we did looks good to me. "

I told him that first off the service writer and himself were liars. They said the shop guy put a "scratch" in my truck. I asked the body shop manager if is is customary to fill scratches with Bondo. Of course he said no. So, I asked, why won't the damn magnet I took in stick to the area that was replaced? Too much Bondo right? "There might be more than a little there" was his reply. I told the service manager that I had a good mind to put a HUGE sign on my truck and park it in front of the dealership stating that the service dept. jacked up my truck. Obviously I know I will have to fight tooth and nail to get any restitution from this dealer. I did have the body shop give me a written guarantee that the repair will last as long as I own the truck. And if it didn't, I could take the truck to any of its facilities and have the repair done again. I asked what if you go out of business? The repair manager stated "we have seven shops". I let him know I used to work for an automotive related center that had over 180 stores, and that they are now out of business... ... .

My appologies for the extremely long post.

You know the saying, "It's better to be pissed off than to be pissed on?" Well, the DOWNEY Dodge experience left me feeling both.....
