Automotive News is noting that Ford is offering $2,500. 00 towards the purchase of a new diesel truck- if you own an '03- '04 F-series Super Duty stuffed with a 6. 0L Power Stroke. This is said to be a make-good( read Customer loyalty ) for the troubles the engine has been giving to owners. Diesel Power has reported in the May '06 issue as being a result of a wiring harness problem that caused rough idle, stalling, and lack of power. About 250,000 customers are eligible for the bonus.

Remember there is nothing wrong with the engine. :-{} :-laf

I read that and my jaw dropped. It just goes to show you - Ford Motor Company as a corporate entity is never to be trusted. How many years did we sit and listen to Ford dealers and management and owners testify about how the 6. 0 is a great engine and there's nothing wrong with it? And how many times did we hear the ridiculous argument that "well, there are a lot of Fords on the road, that's why there's a lot of problem trucks"? Finally the truth is coming out, albeit slowly.

Auto News also had an article discussing the new 6. 4L engine for 2007. Of course, that engine is going to be just perfect. Right.
