Went to the Las Vegas gun show yesterday. It's put on by a group from Oklahoma City every 3-4 months. Here's a link to that company's home page: http://lasvegasgunshow.com/index.htm

Got a book from Arizona Sheriff Richard I. Mack, joined the Gun Owners of America ( www.gunowners.org )

got 3 bi-pods--- 2 $7 cheapies made of a hinged pair of plastic structural foam. (one long pair and a short pair). They just spring-clamp around the barrel of my kids' 2 . 22's.

The third one is an adjustable-leg model that I got for the 8x57 Mauser that I bruise my shoulder with. #ad

Also got 2 bumperstickers:
Gun Control=People Control and
Don't Take My Rights Because You Won't Control Your Child!

The 2nd one should be real popular #ad
in the kid retrieval line at the private school where my kids go. (lotsa Volvos #ad
there, if ya know what I mean) #ad

As they say in the "Bilge" over at www.Ford-diesel.com , "QUACK"

I like that second one! It's one of those things that will most likely offend those that it pertains to.

One of my favorite bumper stickers is the one that reads something to the effect of:

Gun Control means hitting what your aimming at. #ad

Here's my all time favorite firearms related bumper sticker...
". 44 Magnum, God's favorite caliber". I used to work part time at a local gun shop that had it stuck to a display case, never asked him where he purchased same. If I offended anyone, I apologize in advance.

Also got a bandoleer of 70rds 8x57mm Mauser "Full Metal Jacket!" on stripper-clips (14 clips of 5rd each) for $7. 95. Had never seen them available like that previously. This time they were on several tables. Some "furriner" must have just gotten hold of them and exported them to the good ol' US of A. Have now put off reloading for about 4 more bang-n-bruise sessions #ad

Am about 1/2-way thru with reading Sheriff Mack's book "From My Cold Dead Fingers". He should have picked a different title. It seems a bit "gun-nut/paranoid/ultra-rightwing" compared to the content. (Unless he wanted liberals to buy it and then be converted... hmmmmmm... good strategy, now that I think of it. ) ---I say that because I had seen the book there before and didn't pick it up. (Classic example of not judging a book by its cover)

Should, indeed be required reading in every American household.

Whatever rights the liberals hold dear, free speech, etc. are also supported by the existence and function of the 2nd Amendment. Bounce that off a "gun-grabber" next time you find yourself in the discussion.

If the 2nd is abolished (won't really happen), or, observable now, is made too unwieldly to be practical (permits, license fees, registrations, etc. ), eventually the others won't have anyone able to support them, and the entire Bill of Rights and the subsequent amendments would become just a document. Desecrated, forgotten, possibly even removed from its museum spot and burned. Kind of like when Winston Smith kept having to put old news/data into the "memory hole" in order to erase and edit history.

Enough editorializing on my part. I'm probably preaching to the choir here... . rm

The truth usually does, right? With some people, though, a message like that can trigger a bit of "change of heart". The ones you gotta worry about are the ones who are so blind that they DON'T even realize that it's aimed at them.
