I just bought a set of Isspro Pyro and Boost Gauges and although I have a good idea where to mount the sensors, I was wondering if anyone had any pictures they could share of the pyrometer thermocouple install location and boost pressure line install location?

If you don't have any pictures perhaps a good description would help?

Here is a picture of my Pyro and Boost connections... ... for the boost connection you will need the Piers boost fitting, it makes the install very easy... no easier way for the boost. Get the boost fitting here about half way down the page.

Thanks Guys Oo.

Big Confidence Booster. Time to get to work on the beast!

As always, I love this forum. You guys are the greatest! :D

kboettcher-

Nice pic, BUT... . In the first gen trucks, there is already a plug in the intake manifold. About 4" behind the elbow going to the AFC hose/ housing. 11mm wrench to take it out, 1/8 NPT screws right in. If you have a non-IC truck, you have to remove the throttle bracket, and find where to drill the hole to get the line to go through. DOnt have a pic of mine, and it is too dang wet and nasty to get one.

Don't worry about confusion... you have actually found an "easy" answer for the early 1st Gen guys... . The boost fitting would solve the problem of having to remove or drill the throttle bracket to install a boost signal fitting. WAY TO GO BUD!!!!!!

Oh yeah, NOW he tells me.

If you have a big enough drill bit, you dont have to get it lined up too close. :D

7/8 is what I used . . didn't line up perfect, but close enough so I could use a socket on the fitting. ;)

Hi,

I just got a isspro pyro gauge with a mount and light kit but no wiring or probe. . I looked at that picture in the first one or two replys to this thread and I'm wondering if you guys are using a brass compression fitting(plumbing) for a 1/8" probe I think i can get a 1/8" probe and wire from a local diesel shop. Does it have to be a isspro probe?..... Thanks for any info..... Chuck

Yes, it has to be ISSPRO probe, as far as I know. ISSPRO leadwire would be a good idea, too. And I think the only fitting you can get for the pyro is 1/4NPT. Last pyro I got from DIS had only 1/4NPT adaptor, and I called and asked them, and they said the kit had been "updated" eliminating the 1/8NPT adaptor. Although, I DID see recently on the ISSPRO website that you could still get the 1/8NPT adaptor.

I got the leadwire and probe from DIS, beileve it was around $45 to get it to my door. This WAS in 2002, so prices may have gone up since then.

csnider,

If you want to see some pictures of the Isspro pyro & boost gauges and the thermocouple & boost connection take a look at my pictures. Sorry, but the boost connection picture is a little fuzzy.
