Boost Drops to Zero

I have a 2006 Dodge with the 5.9, the only mod is a Bully Dog GT. Everything has been great for a few years except recently. When I do hard medium to hard acceleration, when boost hits 20 / RPM around 2200 the power drops boost goes to zero and the truck billows black smoke until I back off then everything returns. Fuel pressure seems to be fine and the truck has no codes. Happens in all modes of the tuner. Scratching my head trying to figure out where to start.

Check for loose hoses to intercooler and other side to intake . Could be the wastegate.

No loose connections. Always dumps out around 28ish lbs boost on medium to hard acceleration Ive discovered. no engine codes. I think Ill order a new AFE wastegate and put it in. Seems the logical culprit that its getting weak.

When the boost drops what does it drop to, does it always drop to the same psi

When the boost drops, its a total drop out to zero boost.

Yesterday I finally set aside some time and pulled the turbo. I installed the AFE wastegate. So far Im hitting up to 38 PSI boost and no problems.
