I just got my EZ and am ready to install. I don't have my guages yet (no $). Should I put the boost elbow in? The paperwork from Edge says the box will work equally well with or without. Should I be concerned about overboost or other problems if I install it and can't monitor? Guages are my next purchase but it will be a bit.

I would install the elbow. This keeps your exhaust gas temperatures lower than without. Your Edge box will keep from setting any over boost codes. Maybe someone will chime in who has tried the box without the elbow installed.

Boostr elbow

I think that if it fits the older one's you might be able to sell it. I do know that the older one's always had them in the box. Eric

prolly build too much boost w/ elbow in to be efficient. very much over 30 psi may be too much for the hy35/10

what is max efficient boost for this trbo

Boost elbow?

The boost elbow is a red flag to dealer but if you are honest with dealer they will mostly be nice about it. Remember I am my own warranty. Eric

2 minutes to uninstall if u worried bout it. dont use edge supplied hose clamp

Has anyone tried the "Turn Buckle" method on a Gen3? I used one on my '01. 5 with much success. It allowed higher boost levels, but was easily removed for dealer visits.

I've removed and installed the boost elbow on mine twice now and it really only takes about 5 minutes. I kept the original clamp and did not use the one that came with the box. Before the boost elbow my max boost was 22. Now I can hit 32.

But, did you notice a performance difference. Boost numbers mean nothing to me unless there is a noticable performance increase or egt decrease.

I just plugged the wategate port with an 1/8" pipe plug so I can get the most boost when I need it. It didn't affect performance except at WOT. My towing temps at WOT did drop about 100*. The boost elbow is plugged with a little tiny hole drilled in it so not alot of air presser can get to the acuator, and has a little tiny hole drilled in the outside of the elbow to allow that pressure to reach a certain point anb leed off to you don't keep blowing open the wastegate.
