I have a couple of boost elbows, one I purchased from Performance Diesel and the other came with a JVD anti-defueling-device. The two differ in the size of the orifice and one is completely blocked on the threaded end. I thought a boost elbow was a boost elbow, but obviously not. Why the differences? Do they allow differing amounts of boost? What are the effects on the wastegate? Any other things to consider?

This is only a guess but I would say the one that is completely blocked will build more boost with every thing else being equal.

importance for gauges

I do not have an anwser for you. I think that the blocked orfice would give a false reading and allow more boost to be built. I open orfice would send a true reading to where ever it goes.

I am sure I did not help you with your post, but I think I would go with "what ever mod" I was installing instructions.

Hope this helps

See Ya
