I searched the forums and didn't exactly get the info I wanted so decided to ask a specific question.

What result would I get, good or bad, fitting a boost fooler to my stockish 06.

I'm talking one of the inline stand-alone plug-in units, not a downloader or box of any kind. The truck has only a Rokteck muffler and timing sensor and a drop-in AFE SS filter. I'm looking mainly for better off-the-line response and maybe better mileage (of course). I can imagine a bunch of things it might do, but wondered if anyone actually has experience with one.

I have no experience with a stand alone boost fooler but it seems to me that if it was telling your computer it is making less boost than it is, you would get less fuel, and less power. If it is telling you it is making more boost than it is, you would get more fuel and more power/smoke. Could be fun that way.

You'll get more boost. You'll be able to hear the turbo spool up at lower rpm's. It does help you to burn more of the fuel earlier if you add a box or downloader that doesn't do fooling thus improving your low end and getting less smoke on the low end. I put a fooler on way back before adding other mods. I can't tell you whether it made any difference other than the psychological pleasure of hearing the turbo whine at lower rpm's...

I ran a Quad BF on mine for quite a while with just stock fueling. Took about 200 degrees of the max EGT's in most cases and allowed the turbo to make up to 40 psi when I pushed it. Helped the upper and mid range power some, did nothing in the lower ranges as thats not where it functions. No discenible mileage increase\decrease. No driveability problems that I could find.

It won't give you any better off the line response as it only functions when the boost tops 30 psi and the ECU tries to open the WG. Mileage it won't touch either as that all happens under 10 psi. For the $80 it was a woth while investment but not a power adder by any means.

I had one on mine for a while and it deffinalty pulled better and it did seem to to spool a little quicker. I sold it to a friend witha 6peed and she did see a improvement in mileage and loves the way it drives now.

This will not make a difference in your daily driving until you see 25+psi of boost. It doesn't affect a thing down low or the rpm range where you drive for max mileage.

It will help you run a tad, 50-75*, cooler at WOT and see a few more pounds of boost at WOT, but that is about it.
