What are the stock boost levels on a stock 2006. Looking at gauges but not sure if 30psi gauge is enough? Also looking for pics on Dash pod installs, still not sure if i want the dash pod or overhead console options.

I cant remember exactly, bu the stock 2006 trucks are either 29 or 32 psi. I believe this info is given in issue 52 of the TDR magazine.

Either way, I've heard that the 2006 trucks will peg a 35 psi gauge.

I have a 2003 and got the 60 psi gauge which I am installing right now.

Hope this helps,

Louis

I have used the Westach dual gauge on my '06's. I had the 35 psi version on the stock megacab. It wouldn't peg the gauge but the truck will make 30 psi easily, and all day if need be:) I have the 50 psi version on my current '06 with a fuelling box. The stock turbo is only good for about 40, and mine makes that. A little extra room on the top of the range works for me, and it is still very legible.

Get a gauge that goes to 50, if you do mods later, that will accomodate them until you get really wild.

I understand the desire to keep it stock, I did just that with my first four 3rd gens. I am telling you, just a mild boost, about 60hp, really wakes up these trucks. They remain very reliable and are a ton more fun. The Smarty is also undetectable by the dealer so no warranty issues as long as you control yourself:)

Here's the only pic I have of mine. I'll never go with a different style mount. Had the A-pillar in my '01 and it was fine. This is better. IMO the cubby hole and overhead mounts are terribly unhandy.

With the dash pod how are you running the wires though the dash trim panel?
I don't recall exactly where they are routed under the dash, but there is a big hole in the middle (or so) under the pod.

I may have done it wrong. I think I remember reading that you can run the wires/lines right behind the windshield. I went up/around/over/under all sorts of stuff and it was somewhat of a pita. It was worth it.

boost guages

I'm also in the process of putting gauges in my 2007 I found this product and would like some feed back it is the Edge insight it does have a mechanical pyro gauge and for the rest it plugs into our diagnostic port at the bottom of the dash with this set up depends on our truck electronics for the values my question is has anybody ever tried this set up and if they liked it

I have Edge Juice and the gauges are great for semi modded or stock trucks. It does not have a fuel pressure gauge, boost only goes to 41lbs, so when you get your aftermarket turbo u are going to need a gauge with it. I don't know if the insight is different.
