I searched for the the answers to all of my questions about the installation of my guages but I still have two unanswered questions.

1. Is a 30psi boost gauge "big" enough as long as I stay with the HX35?

2. There was a lot of feedback about which boost line to use, nylon, copper, stainless. I assume the stainless is best, but at what cost? Is there any drawback to the nylon other than kinkability (if that's even a word)? I like the idea of pushing the nylon through copper or flex-pvc.

TIA, Ryan

I use nylon line all of the time in CNC machine tools. Some of the places I put this stuff are incredibly bad environments. The only thing you have to watch out for is kinks and heat. This should not be a problem. There are different grades, with the best I have used to date being the Parker 250 PSI, so don't get the garbage at the local hardware store. A hydraulics supply house will have it.

30lb gauge is probably good for the HX35.

I use nylon all the time, and had more trouble with cooper kinking than the nylon in the past.

<font color=blue>I would get at least a 35psi gauge if your gonna do "mild" BomB'ing or even just stay stock. The 35psi would give you a lil more room for future mods then a 30psi would. If you intend to do any major BOMBing then I would suggest a 50lb gauge.

I've seen over 35 pounds on my HX35, but I have a 16 cm housing.

I've pegged a 40# gauge with my 3500 with a good load, get at least a 40. I use the nylon line but feed it thru 1/4" poly irrigation tubing before installing, keeps it from kinking and protects it from sharp edges.

I thought the 30 was too small, thanks for clearing that up.

My dilema is I really am set on the VDO Vision gauges and they only make a 30. I remember reading something that I could use an engine oil pressure guage. The smallest is 80 so it would not be too accurate in determining lower boost numbers.

Any suggestions?

Thanks again, Ryan
