Since I ordered my guages I thought I would try hunting some instructions, but the only good ones were for the pyro, I couldn't find any for the boost guage(for a 1st gen anyway). Does anyone have any good instructions or know where to get them. Any pics?

Thanks, Steve

There is a 1/8" pipe plug under the air intake tube on the engine. This is the easyest place to put it.

I can post a pic tomorrow if you want one.

Steve,

Philip is right on about the 1/8" pipe plug in the manifold. I have an early 91 as well, and what I did was drill a 3/4" hole in the throttle linkage bracket. Be careful if you leave the bracket on the motor, as there is really only one good location to drill. There is a decent gap around the injections lines towards the center of this bracket. Take a trouble light and you'll be able to see the pipe plug. It should be sticking out about an 1", you'll know it what you see it. Then install the boost fitting and run the boost tube through the hole you drilled. By the way, this is best accomplished if you've take the linkage bracket loose. Hope I didn't make that sound complicated.

I drilled an access hole like Dustin did but did not loosen the bracket. I drilled a 7/8 hole because that was the drill I had available. The hole was large enough to use a socket to remove the plug.

I used a brass pipe nipple to bring the tubing connection outside of the bracket.

I used a 90 degree fitting. I didn't have to drill anything. Your local NAPA store sould have the fitting. It cost $2. It is 1/8" pipe to 1/8" hose compression fitting.

JLEONARD... I would have left the bracket bolt on, but after I finished drilling (3/4" was biggest I had), I was off center just enough that I couldn't get a socket on the plug. #ad
Turned out it wasn't so bad after all, only set me back about 10 minutes. #ad

looks like the '93's are a little different than your '91's, the plug is not hidden behind the bracket... ...
