I'm still new to the Diesel.

I have a have a hard line that runs from below the turbo to the valve cover. Under the valve cover it converts to soft line. Is this a boost hose. It's loose and the outer shell appears to be flaking off. Is there any other hoses associated with boost that should also be replaced? If it's not a boost hose what is it? My guess is Cummins would be the best place to buy a new hose? The truck has 140,000 miles. Thanks.

Sounds like it must be your boost signal hose that goes from the turbo to the afc housing on the other side of the engine on top of your injection pump. Yes, it should be replaced if its deteriorating. NAPA auto parts should have the hose.
