I just put in a modified #10 plate that I got from a fellow member. Thanks Forrest.

I have only been able to get to half throttle due to a stock clutch that about dead, but I am seeing a little over 40lbs of boost. Is this normal?

I have the light spring in the AFC housing with the star wheel fully forward. I also hav eth boost elbow form TST put in. It smokes a little, but its hard to tell since I can't put much of a load on the stock clutch.

I have a Southbend 00090 OFE to put in. Thanks Peter... I bought the 00087 Con B that Peter traded me before I put it in.

I definitely need to put in the new clutch to actually see how much power the plate has given me. But all I can say is WOW!!!!

Thanks to Big DQ for the tips on the AFC adjustment and all the advice. It helps having an experienced bomber that lives only 14 miles away.

The boost numbers that you are getting would probably be right if you were able to load the motor up with a strong clutch, but since your clutch is about gone the numbers seem weird to me.

You would need to be able to load the motor up in 4th or 5th gear to get 40psi you won't see those kinds of boost pressures in 1st or 2nd gear.

Do you still have the stock turbo? If so... You are feeding that sewer pipe (4") with a soda straw (1. 5" diameter equivalent with the 12 cm2 exhaust housing). It's no wonder you are overboosting the turbo, and it's life will be shortened, just as those who overboost the HX40s find out. I'll also bet if yo use full power your egt's go through the roof. That 10 puts the fuel to it.

There is a way to gain forgiveness--further b. o. m. b. ing :D

Get the 16 cm2 housing at a minimum, for your little HX35, or an HX40 with the wastegate set so you don't get over 40 psi.

You have been trying to save money, huh?

Now you will have to start paying so you can get off the porch with the big dogs

Poor old Sickly started out with a cheap habit, too ;)

Thanks

Thanks everyone!!!

Bid DQ told me that 40 lbs is normal until I put a bigger housing on the turbo. I am really milking the stock clutch until I get the 16cm put in, and the clutch.

I did see 43 lbs today in 3rd gear, mashed... After I get some speed, I can get into it a little..... thats when I seen the 43 lbs.

Joe... . You are right. . this did start out cheap... but Don (Big DQ)has the 370's and the 16 housing..... this is next... . right after I put the clutch in. The bug has bitten... ... .....

After I get the 370's in and the housing... then I need to talk to Piers about a gov spring kit.

I really appreciate all the help. Just so you all know... I have already smoked a 2001 ford auto PS. My buddy traded his V10 Dodge for a PS Ford... ... . He is now kicking himself for not staying the the dodge family, and getting cummings.

You got to love it... my truck has 141 k miles and a straight 6 diesel. . which just smoked a 2001 PS by six car lengths... with a slipping clutch.

Enough said

Kurt
