Still mulling over purchasing an EZ or DDTTM. Will I get any add'l boost if I do not put on the boost module?

I've talked to some that say yes, you'll get up to 25psi, and some say no add'l boost unless you put the brass elbow on.

Thanks,

Rick

nevermind defueling ...

it won't work properly without the boost connection and you throw a check engine light as it will make more boost than allowed and without the boost module the ECM will see overboost , though it won't be much over 20 psi

Where does the brass elbow go? Does the EZ limit your boost to around 20? Would it benefit me to run with the Practical Solutions boost module. Stock truck other than the EZ.

With the EZ pluged in and no elbow will still only see around 20 because the wastgate is still activating. With the elbow,(hooks to the end of the hose opposite the wastgate) from what Brett at Edge told me it will retard the wastgate moving until around 38 psi. My truck stock with just the EZ and elbow would hit 27-28 psi.

To get the extra boost you will need to delay the wastgate from dumping.

Can't use the elbow on automatics!

SFord,

Your 2001 probably has the HY35 Turbo. It is hardlined and the elbow won't work. You can disable or delay it with a turnbuckle or spring set up. Do some searches on this and you will get lots of info.

I've been told that with just the EZ you don't need more boost than 20. More will help lower your EGT's a bit. I delayed mine with the spring. I just like watching the gauge jump:D :D
