I am wondering???????

What are the safe max boost numbers mechanically for the B1??

And what are the max boost numbers for this turbo's effeciency range (kwikspool and standard B1)

Any info appreciated.

Kurt told me 60 was about as far as u would want to push it. I was able to make 55 and my dad made about the same. Jetpilot makes 60 or more i believe, not sure if he wastegated it yet or not.

I have no idea what the safe limit is with this turbo. I have pushed mine well over 60 (not really sure how far because the my gauge only goes to 60). I can say that the needle in hits the 60 psi limit so fast its incredible. Let me also say that I have just replaced the bearings inside my turbo because of the high pressures and speed that I have been using.

Currently I have a prototype for an adjustable wastegate actuator for the b-1. I think this will be a BIG benefit for us using this turbo. I need to do some dyno testing to really get the #'s worked out but I think this will allow for bigger HP #'s and greater longevity for us! Hopefully this will be completed over the next couple weeks.

bigger hp #'s? do u mean the potencial to add more fuel, less boost and more NOS? just curious. I really think that wastegating the B-1 is needed. When my dads trucks shifts the egt's go down a bunch, but right back up past 1,500, with stock 180 injectors, and over 50 boost. I'm really curious how the wastegate does on your truck Doug. Are u modifying the spring loaded wastegate controller that has been selling on the TDR, or are u using an external wastegate mounted before the turbo that will dump in the exhaust?

The wastegate actuator is designed by the fellow manufacturing the Turbo-Master actuators. The unit is of very high quality and it looks like I will be able to adjust it from basically 0-60 psi. I will use the dyno to help see where HP falls off with a decrease in boost pressure. I think that the reduced drive pressures will allow for more HP to be put to the ground instead of spinning the turbo.

Wastegate

Doug,

Great, just as I was gettin close, you had to go off and get a new toy. I think you will have great results with the wastegate. That is what I think allowed me to put up such good numbers also. Good luck.
