Hi all. I've got a 01 2500 4x4 SLT+, Auto transmission, with the A Pillar mounted tweeters. I'd like to add a Boost and Pyro guage to my A pillar. Where can I get a set of nice quality guages and a set up which will allow me to keep my tweeter on the A pillar with my guages. Does anybody make such a set up? Also, I live in Southern California and I need to know who can do a top quality installation of said guages? Any thoughts would be great.

<font color=blue>There are plenty of dual gauge pods available that attach to the A Pillar. There is currently not a full replacement available that I know of. I believe the two most of the best selections on brands would be either Autometer or SPA Digital Gauges . (Click on those links for the websites) Also there is Isspro Diesel Injection Service.

These are the most common I can think of off top of my head. I have the Autometer Ultra Lite Series (EGT, Custom Boost, transmission Temp). If you pick Autometer be sure to check this thread for the custom boost gauge. Hope this helps some. Also if you buy Autometer, look into this... ... current discount code for Carparts.com 1868008 Expires 08/31/00 good for 1/3rd OFF first $300.

One member saved about $70 using this. See this thread for his post : Proof of Discount

RamBill,
Kat gave you some great advice, just decide what guage you want to go with and get a pillar mount pod and you are ready to go.
If you need them installed give me a call.

I also added you to the mail out list for the Ram owners group that gets together here in Orange County.
Great to see you on the forum!

I'll probably take you up on your offer. Does anyone make a pod that will allow me to keep the tweeter mounted on the A pillar?

Billy

<font color=blue>All the pods mentioned will attach to the pillar (not a replacement pilllar) just above the tweeter. Do a search on gauge pods, I know there are pictures posted here somewhere if I get a chance I will look for you. <font size=-2>

I got my VDO gauges from Summit Racing. Good looking, good mactch to OEM gauges; but, be ready for a wait, my gauges were backordered for three months!

I've check around and cannot find a full A pillar replacement that includes the tweater. Autometer does not offer a full pillar for post-97 RAMs. (I called them to confirm the catalog).

Most all pillar mounts, 1 and 2 gauge, mount on the exisiting pillar by use of screws.

<font color=blue>You are correct a full pillar w/tweeter does NOT exhist at this time. But its being looked into, but not looking good so far.

I just installed SPA guages in a dual pod A-pillar mount (Autometer mount). They look great and work even better. I am running two dual guages (boost/temp & temp/temp) for turbo boost, transmission temp, pyro pre-turbo and pyro post-turbo.

Check out dieselperformance.com (HVAC's sight) and look for the SPA guage section. You can see photos of Mike Crossley's set up. If you want, I can email a photo of my set up too.

I have the same dilemma (sp?) I am new to the board and a first time diesel owner. Just took my first extended trip up to the Redwood country of CA. averaging 14-15 MPG, will this improve? Would really like to get the guages installed so I can start monitoring EGT's , boost and transmission temps when I start pulling my 7K TT. Anyone know of a reputable shop here in the San Jose area that could install the guages when I get them?
TIA
