I've added a 4 in. exhaust turbo back to my 2001 Dodge 3500 along with a KN air filter in orginal air box, Boost and pyro gauges and a computer chip hop up. When giving it full throttle at 1900 rpm, I get 22 lbs of boost. Is this a normal boost or should it be higher even though I'm not pulling a load. I'd also like some info on the 275 injectors and where to buy them and any other idea's for best performance. Thank y'all,

Ronmorris aa6af

What exactly was the "computer chip hop up?" The reason I ask is that the 22 psi sounds normal for a stock truck. A power adder that includes a boost fooler should let the turbo give you more boost without opening the wastegate. If your "chip" did not include some sort of boost fooler or boost elbow, etc. then I'd say 22 psi sounds about right. If you want to get more boost, you're going to have to get a modification that allows higher boost. Personally, I think the CATCHER is a great tool for low end responsiveness. It also includes provisions for higher boost. No matter what you do, however, if you have an automatic be careful of the transmission. Mine went out before I even started modifying the truck.

After you fool the boost signal (by way of box or catcher) you also need to block off the wastegate line to prevent the wastegate from bleeding off excess boost. Then you will see numbers higher than 22.

Boost alone won't give you more power, but will cool down the EGTs.

You're right... forgot about the wastegate... my bad.

Ron, he's right about the boost too. You don't necessarily need more boost if you're not having EGT and/or smoke problems.
