I installed a custom ground fuel pin on Wednesday(Thanks GL) With the stock fuel pin I was getting a little under 20 lbs. of boost. With the new one I was getting a solid 25. I was leaving a lady friends house last night and I took of from a stop sign and notice that when I got above 14 or 15 lbs. that I heard a rushing of air from under the hood and my boos would top out at about 18 or 19. I checked all my gauges and everything looked good. I climed under the hood and the boost line and all hardware was snug. Anybody out there experience this before? Thanks to all who respond, Alex.

Sounds like a boost leak somewhere... . intake plumbing connections, intercooler leak, etc. Tighten all the clamps first and if it persists, you may need to build a rig to pressurize the system to find the leak(s).

dont know of any problems in driving it like that. you will have less power and probably run higher egts though.

When I finished tweaking Bill Gilberts pump, he blew one of the boost hoses clean off.

TugboatPhil had one come off too, sometime after I had my hands on his engine. He wrapped them all "tighter than last years swim trunks" with duct tape.

I have had a few hoses leak on the bus engines after I had R&R'ed them. It's generally a pretty loud sound even for a small leak.

There is a seal at the turbo horn too.

I had similar events after the tweaking began, intake hose kept coming off the BHAF. I built a new intake with the tube a few inches inside the BHAF and more than 3/4" at the rest of the connections, it hasn't popped off since the upgrade.

Your BHAF is on the inlet side of the turbo. Boost wouldn't be a factor in it falling off. However, if you tweaked the pump, wouldn't the increased suck tend to keep it on... ... :-laf

Just funn'n

I would check the bolts that hold down the cover plate on the intake manifold.

Had one heck of a boost leak going to TX last year. Had a bad boot and had to tighten up the manifold bolts.

I'm just adding my 1/2 cents worth, that air cleaner tube coming off made a noise I tell ya.

Dont forget your cheap pot metal AFC line. If you break wind in its general direction, it is GUAANTEED to break, split, or crack.
