OK, I finally installed a good 30 psi VDO boost guage and now need to know what I should be getting on my stock 1990.
Cruising down the hwy at 70 mph it runs 3-5 psi and when I accelerate it goes up to 10-12.
I read in one of the 'posts' to keep it under 10 for economy and to keep exh temp down.
Havent checked it under towing load yet.
Any comments?

Sounds pretty normal - tho' up grades, pulling a load, 22 lbs. or so at max is what I got with my early '91 before installing the Banks intercooler - that reduced boost a couple of lbs...

Early '91 250, 727 AT, 307 rear...
Banks Stinger exhaust, intercooler...

When I bought mine it had about 17-18 Psi boost, which is a little more than the stock setting I think. The general rule of thumb is 10HP/Lb boost. 160 HP is around 16 Psi.

I just installed my boost gauge today! Mine is about the same as you say for normal driving, but I get up to 28psi max when I romp on it! I take it that that is good boost! I still want to play with my pump settings some. I wanna peg it!
