WHAT IS THE MAX BOOST PSI I SHOULD SEE ON A STOCK 95 AUTO RAM? I PLAN TO UPGRADE TO A 230HP TST PLATE. WHAT READINGS SHOULD I SEE THEN? I ASK ONLY BECAUSE I HAVE A 0-60 PSI GAUGE THAT I ORDERED FROM D. I. S. AND THEY RECOMMENDED THIS GAUGE, AND AM ONLY SHOWING ABOUT 16PSI MAX. IF I INSTALL THE TST PLATE AND THE BOOST DOES NOT INCREASE THAT MUCH,THEN MAYBE I SHOULD RETURN IT AND GET A 0-30 OR 0-40PSI GAUGE.

Stock with the pedal to the floor and carrying/pulling a load you should see ~20 psi. Highway crusing should be 5-10 psi. The TST plate and elbow might take you to 30. I've been told the intercoller is only rated for 50 psi max.

BParent,

I agree with Brian.

But I thought stock engines could see 30 psi with adjustable elbow or adjustment of stock wastegate (closing it permanently or using regulated air supply to change max boost before gate

opens).

Max boost (psi) is set between 18 psi and 20 psi on stock wastegate so even if you add a 230 hp plate without adding asjutable elbow or tinkering with existing wastegate you will only see 20 psi max.

about 18 stock (since it's wastegated). now, you get the elbow or simply block off the wastegate (only with more fuel)... . as mine is blocked with the stock plate foward. i'm seeing 30lbs of boost (31 if i'm lucky).
