Im looking at getting a new steering shaft and summit list two possiabilities. The 940 is the standard replacement with the rag joint, and the 943 replaces the rag joint with a u joint. Any oppinions, i would think the 943 would eliminate all slop but maybe transmit some more vibrations/noise, but i don't see that as being a huge concern in these trucks. Has anybody run the 943?

I have a standard unit. However, you can make your own updated shaft for about 1/4 the cost. There is a thread title you need called "Boregeson? Why?"

I'm currently obtaining the said parts and will make mine this early spring. You will need some basic hand tools and have the OEM shaft welded onto the new spicer yoke. Any shop will perform said task for a nominal fee or you may opt to use the set screw method.

Just an idea for you to ponder, eh?
