Borgeson steering shaft

I just ordered borgeson shaft for my 92 Dodge and have a few questions about installation. Does the set screw on the borgeson usually line up with the existing hole on the steering box or do you sometimes have to grind flat spot on shaft for set screw? Also, my stock steering box looks like it just has a flimsy piece of plastic for a pin. Isn't it supposed to a steel pin holding shaft on splines?
