Has anyone ever heard of the VP44 computer having fault codes? I have been working with Cummins to troubleshoot a strange phenomenon (surge/shutdown) at 1500-1800 RPM. I received documentation from them that the VP44 computer shows 2 codes when the problem occurs. The codes are (fault 4) and (fault 18356). They recommended replacing the VP44. The truck does not display any trouble codes and the phenomenon cannot be reproduced on a dyno.
