I have had a 1992 CTD a phew years ago and I sold it so I have some good knowlage of these fitst gens. Any way This thing is non intercooled it is a auto adn has 300,000 miles on it. The trucks runs good I am going to get the timing ad fuel done soon. I am wanting to know if this will work, I have a hx35 off a 1998 12v auto and thought about putting it on there I have a down pipe for the turbo too. I just dident know with out the intercooler if it would help it? I thought I would hook it up the same way too. Any input on this idea or doese any body have this set up???? thanks Justin

The HX35 will work. It is a common upgrade for our trucks.

If you don't want to mess around with the down pipe just leave the nonwasted gated housing on it. I am not sure if the wasted gated down pipe from that 2nd gen will fit our chassis. If you do use the wasted gated housing and the down pipe doesn't work. You will need to shorten the orginal down pipe about 1 1/4" if I remember right.

That second gen waste gated housing will give you the fastest spoolup of the two. But it will give you the highest drive pressures to. What is the size of that W/G'ed housing?

If it is one of the 9cm's it is to small. It will give you a real good launch. But it will kill you pretty fast by restricting the top end. EGT's will be a problem most likely.

If it is a 12 cm. The same will apply to some extent. Only the restriction will be higher in the RPM scale.

Is the truck an auto or 5 spd? If it is a auto with the 3:07's rear gears. A 12 cm might work good on it.
