Wow - a must see photo.....

Here it comes

I went out and bought a new Canon EOS 20D dSLR the other day, with a few lenses. This is one slick camera. If any of you are into photography, and ready for a new camera, you need to look at the Canon 20D.

Here are a couple of pictures of our babies. I hope the pictures show up!

I took these out on our deck, the beauty of being able to shoot 5 frames per second. You can catch the stuff you would normally miss.

I've had my 20D for 2 months so far. What lenses did you aquire for it? All I have are the 18-55mm "kit" lens, and a 70-300 F/3. 5-5. 6 III lens. I have a long list of things I want to get and I think the first will be a 50 f/1. 8.

It looks like you're definitely getting the hang of that camera. I'm still impressed with all the various things you can do with it. Even though it has a very usable ISO 1600 and 3200, I've found the program Neat Image (www.neatimage.com) to be very impressive for eliminating some digital noise. There's a free demo version, and then a variety of other versions you can buy if you decide you like it (although I think the demo is unlimited).

Then again the DSLR isn't for everybody from what I've found. I don't mind it a bit, but most people I know don't have much interest in learning how to use it and so forth, which is unfortunate for them because with a little practice as you have demonstrated, you can get some excellent photos...

At the risk of being invasive to the thread, I'm attaching a photo I took today. Those are some nice family members you've got there by the way.

TS,

Thanks for the compliment!

As far as lenses, this is what I have:

Canon 70-200mm f4 USM

Canon 100mm f2. 8 macro USM

Canon 50mm f1. 4 USM

Canon 18-55mm kit lens

I picked up these lenses off of ebay and Amazon. If you have not looked there, you are missing some really good prices vs the camera shop. I saved well over $200-500 on each lens compared to my local shop. I also tried a couple of Tamron lenses, both were unacceptable picture quality wise. They had glowing reviews from various owners, maybe I just got 2 bad copies of 2 different lenses, from 2 different vendors? I think I will just stick with Canon lenses.

I have a hold on a 16-35mm f2. 8 USM right now. My transmission blew the other day on the way to Sam's Club, so it will be on hold for awhile.

As far as the camera, it really is sweet. I still am amazed at the picture quality of this digital SLR.

I found that pic of the 2 kids on the internet. I laughed hard. Great picture.

PS: I don't have any kids & never been married.
