Dutchmen vs Jayco

Well, I finally went and did it.

I bought a new to me 27' 1976 Newmar Arabian. The interior on this rig is immaculate. The air conditioner appears to have been replaced in the early 90's and works well. It pulls down the road very well with no sign of any chassis flex. It's also amazingly light for it's vintage with a dry weight of only 4920lbs. It does have a few electrical problems though and I am having trouble coming up with a wiring diagram for the old girl. Any chance one of you owned one of these and might still have the owner's manual laying around? The main thing I need the diagrams for is the circuits relating to the power converter. I've been doing automotive 12 & 24 DC volt systems for 15 years now, still not real good with 110 V AC systems. Guess it's time to learn.

Good luck:confused:

Trailers don't come with wiring diagrams or schematics. :You might try contacting the converter mfg for a inverter schematic. Other than appliance schmatics the rest of the coach is " where the %*%^$ did this wire come from and that #$^$% wire go to.

Power converters ( ac to dc ) typicly have one ac hot lead and one neutral input and one or two fused 12vdc+ outputs and might have a 12vdc- ground lead or use chassis for 12vdc-.

I sugest you load test the batteries to be shure they are good first.

Shooter, I won't argue the point about a lot of trailers coming without wiring schematics ... but not all makes. My Alpenlite owners manual includes the schematic.
