I probably should have asked BEFORE Ibought them, but I recently purchased a set of leather two-tone seat replacement covers for my quad cab... .

Has anyone put these on their truck... how do they fit???

Any particular tricks for getting them on snug?

Any issues or problems????

Thanks in advance

They do look GOOD! Tell us more about the supplier. I can't help on installation, but from what I see on all the TV shows, it does not appear to be too difficult. Did you get instructions?

Were these the katzkins brand?

Did your cushions have velcro runners to attach the pleats in the cover too? (to drawn them down snug?)

Did you warm them up in the sun before installing?

I'm assuming that they don't use hogrings at the cover edges but use the long plastic clips?

Bought them on Ebay

Actually, I have been bidding on these leather covers fo almost a year... they generally go for $550 to $800 a set for a quad cab on Ebay... . I would usually bid $350 or $400 just because I could, thinking that someday I would bid $500-600 and actually win the auction.

Was I ever surprised when I won the auction for $355... . wow... . just a fluke I am sure, but the seller honored the bid and I rec'd the seat covers... they are foam padded on the inside and seem to be very well constructed.

I included a link to the auction, so others can contact him... maybe he has more sets to sell... don't know.

Once I get them installed, I will post some pics, but it may be several weeks... thanks for replying.

They look like katzkins to me. From what I can tell there are only two makers of these, katzkin and classic soft trim, both of which resell and rebrand for many other companies. I just put the katzkin covers in my 06 and love them, they are just starting to really soften up and get broken in. Looks and feels way better than the factory option leather, for a lot less money. Installation took me about 10 hours, though I could do it again in 5 now that I know the process. The console takes the most time, there are four pieces compared to two on the other seats. One piece of advice I would give is put them in front of a heater for a few minutes right before you put each piece on to soften them up. Also carefully lay out the holes that need to be cut using your factory cloth as a template. Don't cut the holes where it looks like they should go because by the time you stretch and pull these things into position it will move on you. The factory cloth is the best layout tool for the penetrations. Good luck.

Should be the A. L. I. Leather brand, they are an oem supplier of leather seats as well. I installed them (from a chrysler dealer in all graphite (no puddy insert)) in my 05 2500 quad cab. They fit pretty good, took about 10 hours to get them installed with about 5-6 hours spent on the getting the center console done. I had never put leather in a vehicle before, and I didn't think it was that difficult other than the console. You just have to take your time and make your cuts carefully. Let me know if you need some tips. It would be better to give me a call then try to do by email or posts. Email me for my number if you need. This is my first post so I'm not sure if you can find my info on the site or not. If not email me at -- email address removed --. Good luck, Tacsavage

If you want your leather real supple, use olive oil and let it soak in for at least a day or two before wiping it off. It's the secret for great Italian leather. Beats any other oil or conditioner.

Thanks for the replies... I have looked at them a couple of times and the install seems pretty straight forward, especially with your responses... I will certainly use the cloth seat covers as templates for holes... GR Oo. EAT IDEA>>>

CClements,

I think that the back seat is different in an '03, is your a 60/40 split bench? The 05 has the split rear. The A. L. I. did have some covers for the 03 in the past, you could probably still get some from them. They are probably not as nice as katzkin, but I still think pretty good overall. I haven't got a gallery set up here yet, but you can checkout my dodgetruckworld gallery for a few pics.

If the link doesn't work, just go to dodgetruckworld.com, click on galleries, and search for Tacsavage under 05 2500.

DHerzog,

Looks great! I have been looking at getting a set of these as well but I will probably have somebody local install them. Let me know how the install goes!

Betterthanstock? You pick up a lot of Itailian/Sicilian chicks doing that? :D

Are you kidding about the olive oil??? I think I would be afraid to try that...

I heard it from an Italian glove and purse maker. Softened up my Chinese leather computer chair and it's not sticky or smelly or anything bad 6 months later. My truck is plush so I can't use it there.

Let's see if I've got this right. I go out and pour EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) on my leather seats and let it sit for a day or two. Then I go out and wipe 'em off. Or maybe I could just add lettuce and a few tomatoes and have a salad right there in the seat.

Of course, if I have to make a run before the EVOO gets wiped up or eaten, I guess my pants would absorb most of it. Might have some s'plainin' to do when I get back home, tho. I can hear it now ...

"WHAT'S THAT ON THE SEAT OF YOUR PANTS? DON'T BOTHER ANSWERIN' BECAUSE I WON'T BELIEVE YOU. JUST GO BACK WHEREVER YOU CAME FROM 'CAUSE YOU AIN'T SLEEPIN' HERE TONIGHT. "

03 seat differences

my 03 has the split rear seat. Any ideas at what other differences there might be?
