box/canopy dimesions?

I'm looking at buying a used canopy for the CTD, and I am trying to figure out the differences in beds / boxes. I see short box canopies and lon box canopies and some that don't say. My box is a tad over 8', is this a regular box or is it called a long box, or is a long box longer than 8'?



any help would be appreciated,

PS: does it matter if the canopy came off a ford or chev? Are their boxes different widths?

Short bed is 6' long bed is 8'. Yes it matters what truck in was designed for. Some have the same width from front to back. Some taper toward the back. Ford Chev or Dodge may have different widths depending on year.
